Manhattan in Silesia

The commercial real estate market in Katowice is more and more prosperous.
Three 100-metre-high skyscrapers are going to be built in the centre of the city. That is the beginning of an investment boom in Katowice, because – in the opinion of investors – Silesia is becoming fashionable.

The investment that will be realized in the centre of Katowice, on a plot worth PLN 6.5 million, in the area of the intersection of Zabrska and Mickiewicza Streets, is impressive. Three 100-metre-high tower blocks will be built right next to the building of Stalexport and they will house offices and flats. This place might be called the Silesian Manhattan – says an investor.

The company plans to announce an international project competition. Yet, the winning solution is going to be implemented according to the expectations of the inhabitants of the city. The building will probably be put into use in three years’ time. Both the flats and the offices will be of high standard.

There are more investments of this kind in Katowice. A residential / office skyscraper is also planned to be built in the vicinity of Spodek. – We issue more and more building permits – says Waldemar Bojarun, spokesman of the Municipal Council, which confirms the interest of investors. He adds that the city is going to sell the bus depot of PKM Katowice at Mickiewicza Street. According to Piotr Uszok, Mayor of the City, another modern office building should be created in this place.
