Big choice for Silesian cinema fans
When it comes to multiplexes, Silesia is catching up with the West – informs Gazeta Wyborcza. New cinemas will soon be built in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Bielsko-Biała, Bytom and Gliwice.
The inhabitants of Dąbrowa Górnicza will be the first to enjoy a modern cinema – five-theatre Helios cinema will open in the Pogoria shopping centre on 8 November.
According to Marek Palpuchowski, the Vice-President of Helios, the number of multiplexes (already 12) in our region is relatively high as compared with other parts of Poland and there is still place for several dozen of new ones. Cinema City is planning to open cinemas in Bielsko-Biała and Bytom, and Multikino wants to open another one in Gliwice.
Yet, as regards the number of cinemas, Poland and Silesia are still behind the West and that is why Cinema City, Multikino and Helios are so interested in building new multiplexes also in smaller cities and towns, where population does not exceed 100 thousand.
