Trigranit will invest in Chorzów
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, the grounds of the former Kościuszko Steelworks in Chorzów will be turned into a shopping centre of the size of the Silesia City Centre, hotels, a congress centre, offices and an entertainment park. The land covers the area of 45 ha. A Hungarian developer has signed a letter of intent on this issue with the authorities of the city of Chorzów.
The developer also intends to create a region of car showrooms, with all the leading car manufacturers in one place. The entire area would be linked with a network of roads and green avenues. Inside the centre there would be an artificial lake surrounded by buildings.
The whole investment will face the future ring road of Chorzów, which will run beyond the Steelworks. The city has also promised to extend the Nowa and Stabika Streets in order to improve the communications between the future centre and Katowice.
Currently, the post-industrial area is held in perpetual usufruct by the Kościuszko Steelworks and belongs to the State Treasury. TriGranit hopes to bid successfully for the purchase of the land.
The investment by TriGranit in Chorzów may even cost EUR 300 million.
