New logo of Katowice
The first symbol was granted to Katowice to mark the 130th anniversary of the creation of the city. It was a characteristic letter K. Now, the time has come to refresh the logo.
The design was prepared by Art. Studio Furtka from Rybnik. It presents the “Spodek” Sports and Entertainment Arena, the most famous and popular building of Katowice, and harmonises with the motto of the city which promotes Katowice as "a place of great events".
The selection of colours is also not coincidental. Blue stands for space and fresh air, green suggests freshness, development and life, and yellow symbolises wealth, knowledge and experience.
The new logo is one of the first steps of the campaign aimed at promotion of the city – the campaign will soon be put out to tender.
