MIPiM 2008 – more and more attractive
Yet again the turnout record at MIPiM Fair has been beaten. All significant participants in the real estate market appeared at the biggest branch event in Europe. This year over 26 thousand guests gathered in Cannes, France. The visitors had a chance to see stands in exhibition halls with a total surface area of 26.8 thousand m2.
This year's exhibitors were interested in the proposals of the cities and regions which seek investors. Eastern metropolises, e.g. Singapore, are especially active in this field. Dubai, with artificially built islands and plans to construct the highest skyscraper in the world (1.2 km), is invariably a paradise for developers.
The expansion of the former Soviet Union regions, including Ukraine with the offer of Kiev, was also noticeable at the fair. Our region was presented by the planned investment near Bratislava. It is worth 15 billion euro and encompasses 800 ha
of housing, office and logistic space. The little town of “Central Europe Valley” will also have its own schools, university, golf course and 55 ha of parks.
