FedEE: Poland is the most attractive country in Europe
The group of 5 most attractive countries also includes Denmark, Slovenia, Switzerland and Great Britain. In the FedEE’s ranking Poland got
a mark of +6 and outdistanced all competitors in the region: Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary.
- Poland has the most competitive employees in Europe, as regards total costs of labour compared with the quality of work. We still have a lot of highly-educated employees who systematically improve their qualifications – says Paweł Wojciechowski, President of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.
The strongest points of Poland are as follows: access to young labour force, presence of women on the labour market and availability of temporary employees. Collective arrangements, position
of trade unions and the amount of average wage per hour were also considered very positive.
The Agency added that Polish investments in training, possibilities of recruitment from other employers and limitations in dismissing employees were on the minus side. Polish employees were also found not to be too good at using the Internet.
The FedEE ranking involved 27 members of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. The study focused on 15 factors related to access to labour force, human capital, market relations and flexibility, as well as inflation and costs of labour.
FedEE, which has been operating since 1989, is the leading employers’ organisation in Europe, established with support of the European Commission. Nearly two thousand biggest European employers belong to the Federation. Members of the Federation employ, on average, about 7.500 people. Half of them are companies with American and Japanese capital.
